Welcome to Wild Hinchinbrook Adventures hire boat page, where Hinchinbrook is your oyster.
Having an extended stay, dreamt of fishing Hinchinbrook but didn’t want to tow the boat?
Tried to book a charter with us but we are fully booked?
Towing a van or discovered this hidden gem and need to go fishing?
These are all to common reasons to book our hire boat! Through our charters we have always strived to get everyone onboard to have the ‘Ultimate Hinchinbrook Experience’ but, unfortunately its not always possible.
So we bought a hire boat to facilitate you creating your own.
Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them. Dalai Lama
Our tagline is to create the ‘Ultimate Hinchinbrook Experience’ but, unfortunately sometimes its just not achievable with one skipper. This has constantly not just disappointed us, but our clients as well.
Disappointment is not part of our mantra! So to get around having to say no and provide no alternatives, we decided to purchase a hire vessel. We have equipped it with the best equipment money can buy to create excitement, not disappointment and facilitate visitors in creating their own ‘Ultimate Hinchinbrook Experience’.
HINCHINBROOK IS NOW YOU OYSTER….
Polycraft boats has been shown in independent tests to have five times the impact resistance of fiberglass.
This makes Polycraft one of the strongest boats on the market providing trouble free boating for many years.
Polycraft boats flex to absorb the impact of the sea, just like the shock absorbers on your car absorb and deflect the jarring from potholes in the road.
Throw the rods, esky & crab pots in and go make memories!
Go Anywhere, Any Place, Anytime…
The 4.1m ‘Challenger’ is a little boat that can go into the tightest places but tough enough to tackle the rough stuff.
The Hinchinbrook Channel can be a a tough body of water to navigate, but, Polycrafts are built tough with a unique, soft ride. Pull it up on the sand, glide through tight mangrove lined creeks, it’s ready for the challenge.
The unique hull design features pronounced reverse chines which contribute to unmatched stability at rest.
The reverse chines also promote lift when accelerating onto the plane and allow for tighter cornering at high speed.
Our Polycraft ‘Challenger’ was chosen for this reason, Being a punt style vessel with a flatter deadrise its stability is amazing. We wanted our clients to have the confidence the whole family is safe.
They just don’t build them like this anymore!
Our Poly is fitted with a key start, power tilt & trim, 40hp Yamaha 2 Stroke engine. These engines are as tough as Chopper Reid.
Grunt down low to get you and the family on the plane quickly, reliability and a top speed of 23 knots.
These engines are like Cameron Smith, “play forever and are still as good the day they started”.
Its impossible to run a first class operation with second class equipment.
We choose Gamin chartplotters in all of our fleet of vessels and the reason is simple. Longevity, versatility, functionality and simplicity. There is simply nothing on the market which comes close to the performance of Garmin electronics, hence why we have fitted an Echomap 95sv UHD to our Poly to give our clients every opportunity to catch the fish of a lifetime and navigate Hinchinbrook waterways safely.
We also have a 55lb Minn Kota Terrova with the ‘Spot Lock’ feature, so there is really no need to anchor.
We encourage hirers to supply all of their own fishing/crabbing equipment. This includes rods, reels, line, hooks, sinkers and crab pots. this provides a more streamlined hiring process. We maybe able to assist with equipment at an additional cost. Contact us if you would like to discuss hiring additional gear rods or crab pots.
All hirers must supply all of their own lures and bait, we do not provide this service. If you need to purchase bait prior to your day on the water, Lucinda Marine Cove shop located at the ramp have frozen bait for purchase. Their friendly staff will guide you towards what bait is best for seasonal species.
Hirers must supply all of their own lunch and refreshments for the day. We do not provide this service. Alcohol can be consumed on our vessels as per our 'Nominated Skippers Brief' however all alcohol must be in can's for safety purposes.
You need to keep your drinks cold and your catch fresh! We encourage hirers to supply their own esky/icebox. This provides a more streamlined hiring process. We maybe able to assist with equipment at an additional cost. Contact us if you would like to discuss hiring an esky/icebox.
North Queensland is a harsh environment. It can be hot, humid and the estuaries full of mozzies and sandflies. The vessel is equipped with a canopy to protect you from the sun above and we provide a day box with sunscreen and RID. However most hirers prefer to supply their own. .
We live in the most picturesque and experience rich location on the planet. It'd be wrong to turn up and not be in the mood for it. All of our vessels are no stress environments. We keep our boats in in great condition and regularly serviced, however, things happen. If you encounter issues during your day please contact us and we'll do our best to help.
