Ben Weston

Ben Weston or “Westo” as he is known by most is a true Hinchinbrook Tragic. Having visited the Hinchinbrook region for over 30 years, he has spent a lifetime fishing these waters. His father first introduced Ben to fishing and boating at the age of 3 and his passion for the pastime have never waivered.
Having being around boat most of his childhood life, Ben recieved his boat licence at 16 years of age and has owned a boat ever since. Recieving his coxswain in 2019, Ben has vast experience in seamanship and boat handling ensuring a safe and enjoyable ride.
Over the years Ben has targeted a variety of species throughout North Queensland and around the world on many different techniques. Ben enjoys travelling to different locations across Australia fine tuning his craft. Westo prides himself on being a hard working guide who caters for individuals of all ages and experience.
Ben spends over 200 days on the water keeping his finger on the pulse, ensuring his clients get the best fishing experience possible. Ben’s has intimately learnt fish habits & behavior based on key geographical & environmental factors giving him the ability to adapt to the conditions and the species you would wish to target.

Graham Weston
GUIDE
“A LARRIKIN, EASY GOING, PATIENT & EXPERIENCED".
Graham Weston or ‘Grazza’ as he is known by most, is Ben’s oldman and sensei. Well for first 15 years anyway!
Graham has visited the Hinchinbrook region for over 30 years, he has a deep love and respect for the area. Grazza’s introduction to fishing was from the humble banks of the Port Hacking River, NSW and his passion for the pastime have never waivered.
Graham is a wealth of knowledge which spans over 60 years and has targeted a vast cross section of species throughout Australia on many different techniques. From the NT, down the East Coast to Victoria and SA its fair to say there isn’t a species he hasn’t caught. Grazza has also piled a few international destinations into his CV including many locations throughout PNG and Hawaii. .
Grazza is a true larrikin, who loves a good laugh. He is passionate, loyal with a great nature and strives to be a hard working guide who caters for individuals of all ages and experience.

Polly is a 4.1m Polycraft ‘Challenger’, powered by a Yamaha 40hp outboard & is our ‘Wild Hinchy – Hire Boat’.
The most equipped Hire Boat on the planet, with a front & rear casting deck, Bimini canopy, 55lb Minn Kota electric motor and the latest in Garmin electronics. Its ready to ‘Go Anywhere, Any Place, Anytime’…
The ‘Challenger’ is a tough versatile little boat that punches above it weight. It boasts a soft ride and unrivalled stability.
Perfect of for the serious sportfisherman or parents wetting a line with the kids, it’s ready for the challenge.
Polly can accommodate up to 4 people.
STRIKEZONE
StrikeZone is a 5m Cairns Custom Craft ‘Barra Tracker’, powered by a Yamaha F70hp outboard.
It has a large front cast deck, rear polling platform, 80lb Minn Kota electric motor and latest Garmin electronics.
A truly versatile sportfishing boat which is perfect for chasing tropical estuary species like barramundi & mangrove jacks up tight tributaries, tangling with either Lucinda jetty queensfish or large mouth nannygai inside the Palm Island Group.
StrikeZone can comfortably accommodate up to 3 anglers.


THE FUNNEL
Introducing our flagship vessel.
The Funnel is a 6.2m SIC Plate Boat, powered by a Suzuki DF200SS outboard.
Custom built from the ground up, this vessel is as at home fishing the Great Barrier Reef as it is conducting our Scenic Experiences up the Hinchinbrook Channel or one of its many waterfalls or the Palm Island Group.
It has a front cast deck with leaning post, rear polling platform, a 105lb Motorguide electric motor, large comfortable esky seat and is quite possibly the most well equip 6.2m vessels of Garmin electronics in the country.
The Funnel can comfortably accommodate up to 4 anglers fishing or 5 people scenically.
LOCATION
We depart from Dungeness Boat Ramp Facility, which is located at the end of Dungeness Road, Lucinda.
The Dungeness facility is a first class ramp which gives us tidal access to the Hinchinbrook Channel. It has two floating pontoons which allows for safe entry/exit onto our vessels.
The facility is just metres from Lucinda Fishing Lodge & Hinchinbrook Resorts accommodation and approximately 1km from the Lucinda Point Hotel.
